Richard "Dick" Young
retires after 42 years with Ayres Kahler
Richard "Dick"
Young, chairman and CEO of advertising agency Ayres Kahler,
will retire from his current position effective June 30.
He will remain with the firm on a part time basis in a new
capacity as executive director, Community Affairs. In this
new role, Dick will represent the agency in working with
area non-profit organizations.
Concurrent with Young's retirement,
the agency also announced a new program designed to provide
marketing and promotional services to area non-profit organizations
through the Richard and Ruthann Young Community Enhancement
Initiative.
"The success of our
agency was enhanced by Dick's passion for this industry
and his recognition of the importance of community involvement,"
said Mick Sibbel, president of Ayres Kahler. "The Richard
and Ruthann Young Community Enhancement Initiative is a
fitting way for our agency to continue supporting Lincoln
and also honor a couple who have done so much for this city."
Area organizations will be
invited to submit applications to receive up to $10,000
grants for professional advertising,, marketing and public
relations services designed to create community service
and awareness campaigns. These activities will be targeted
to organizations with headquarters or affiliate offices
in the Lincoln area. The first grants are expected to be
awarded by September 2004.
