GRAND ISLAND NATIVE HONORED BY ADVERTISING FEDERATION

Grand Island native, Karen (Andersen) Brokaw, was presented with the Silver Medal Award at the 2006 ADDY Awards in Omaha in February.

Brokaw, who is senior vice president of media and promotions for Ayres Kahler Brand Navigation in Lincoln and Omaha, was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the profession, pursuit of creative excellence and demonstration of responsibility to society.

Brokaw attended Grand Island Senior High School and graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln with a degree in journalism.  She supervises media and promotions for a wide range of clients including the Nebraska Lottery, the Nebraska Soybean Board, Fairbury Hot Dogs, CLAAS of America, Hoegemeyer Hybrids and Valmont Irrigation.

Brokaw began her career in television and radio and has been with Ayres Kahler for nearly 20 years.  The Silver Medal Award is one of the most distinguished awards for marketing communications excellence in Nebraska.
